Research Project UPDATE

Most of you have gotten your IRB application results back with comments. Wed discussed this in class on 4/9, and I just want to sum up what we decided to do about the research project given the status of everyone’s IRB proposals. Here’s what we decided together:
  • Everyone will need to address the comments of the IRB and resubmit proposals. Those revisions must be sent to Dr. Veerman before April 15th, which is the last day the IRB will accept proposals.
  • Since it might be difficult to conduct your surveys before the semester ends, we’ll focus on the first three sections of the paper – the introduction, the literature review, and the methods. I’ll be looking for your literature review (which is focused on secondary research) to be more robust, since you won’t be completing the primary research before the semester ends. All of the deadlines marked on our Homework Schedule still stand.
  • Since the point of this research project is to give you some material to present at a conference next year, you’ll still need to administer you surveys/interviews. We’ll do this in the fall, however, as part of your paid work in the Collab if you’re hired.
